The Corsair STRAFE RGB MK.2 is an outstanding gaming keyboard. To work around this, Corsair added an undocumented BIOS mode, which forces the keyboard into boot protocol, flashing the numlock led. When the BIOS boots the keyboard up, it's supposed to tell the keyboard which protocol it should use.īut some are lazy, and expect the keyboard to use boot protocol however, Corsair keyboards seem to use report protocol by default, because it allows NKRO. This is a bit trickier to figure out, but it can handle arbitrarily many keypresses. However, mechanical keyboards can easily go beyond 6 keypresses, so a different and newer protocol was created to fix this, by representing keypresses as "for key N, is it pressed?" for all keys. This is called "boot protocol", and it's useful for rubber dome keyboards which rarely go that high anyway. If you press more than 6 keys, the protocol can't represent that, so the oldest key press gets dropped. Originally, USB represented a keypress as 8 numbers (bytes) which represent the modifier keys states, plus up to 6 keys pressed. Currently lowering GPU clocks a little at a time to see if the Display Driver stops crashing, but I still can't figure out why I can't access/select anything before Windows loads. I have an EVGA 1070 SC overclocked using MSI Afterburner (+80 Core, +280 Memory), and my clocks were stable until I got this iCUE software installed.

I always update my Display Drivers when they are released. I use my Thermaltake MEKA G1 keyboard (I just plug it into one of the front USB ports) if I want/need to make changes in the BIOS. I have the Legacy USB enabled in the BIOS.I've tried different USB ports on the back, I've also tried changing the polling rate to 125MHz in iCUE, but still nothing.

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit on a Gigabyte Z68XP-UD4 mobo. My keyboard lights up during post screen, (default color scheme) but I can't select anything. I can't access BIOS, boot options, or anything for that matter while my PC is booting up.
